How Many Clients Do You Really Need to Make $3K a Month With Spray Tanning or Teeth Whitening?

When someone says they want to make an extra $3,000 a month, that number can sound huge.

Especially if you’re starting a beauty business while working another job, raising kids, going to school, or simply trying to figure out where another business could possibly fit into your life.

But $3,000 becomes a lot less intimidating when you stop looking at it as one big number.

Instead, break it down into clients.

That’s exactly what I did in my newest YouTube video, where I walk through what earning $3,000 a month could realistically look like as a spray tan artist or teeth whitening business.

Stop Thinking “Booked Out”

One of the biggest misconceptions I see from people entering the beauty industry is that success means having clients lined up from morning until night.

It doesn’t.

Your first goal does not need to be becoming booked out.

It might simply be getting enough consistent clients to bring in an additional $1,000, $2,000, or $3,000 every month.

And when you break that number down, you may realize you need far fewer clients than you originally thought.

Start With Your Monthly Goal

Let’s use $3,000 as the goal.

The basic formula is simple:

$3,000 ÷ your average service price = number of clients needed per month.

Then:

Clients per month ÷ 4 = approximate clients needed per week.

Suddenly, instead of thinking:

“How am I ever going to build a $3,000-a-month business?”

You’re asking:

“How can I find a few more clients this week?”

That is a much easier problem to solve.

What Could That Look Like With Spray Tanning?

Let’s say your spray tan is around $50.

To generate approximately $3,000 in service revenue, you would need roughly 60 appointments during the month.

That comes out to about 15 appointments per week.

Now picture those appointments spread across a schedule instead of imagining 60 people standing outside your door.

Maybe you take a few clients after work.

Maybe you open two evenings during the week.

Maybe Saturday becomes your larger appointment day.

Fifteen appointments suddenly looks very different when it’s placed into real available time slots.

And as your pricing increases, retail is added, or clients purchase upgrades and additional services, the number of appointments needed can change even more.

What About Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening usually has a higher average ticket than spray tanning, which means the number of appointments required to reach the same monthly revenue goal may be significantly lower.

If your service price were $150, for example:

$3,000 ÷ $150 = 20 clients per month.

That is approximately five clients per week.

Five.

When you actually see that number, the idea of building an additional income stream starts looking very different.

You Do Not Have to Quit Your Job

This is one of the biggest things I want future beauty business owners to understand.

You do not have to quit your job before you start.

You do not need a storefront.

You do not need a full-time schedule.

And you definitely do not need hundreds of clients.

You can build around the life you already have.

If you work Monday through Friday, maybe you offer appointments two evenings and one Saturday.

If you have kids, maybe you build appointment blocks around school or childcare.

If you already own another beauty business, you may simply add these services into open appointment times you already have.

The goal is not to completely rearrange your life for a business that doesn’t exist yet.

The goal is to let the business grow alongside your current life.

Build the First $3K Before You Worry About Six Figures

There is so much pressure online to scale immediately.

Open the studio.

Hire the team.

Create the course.

Become the educator.

Hit six figures.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with first building a dependable business that brings in an extra $3,000 every month.

Because $3,000 a month is $36,000 a year in revenue.

That can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

And more importantly, it gives you proof that your business model works.

From there, you can decide what you want to build next.

Watch the Full Breakdown

In my latest YouTube video, I break all of this down visually so you can see the client numbers and what a realistic schedule could actually look like.

If you’ve been thinking about becoming a spray tan artist or starting a teeth whitening business but have been telling yourself you don’t have enough time, I want you to watch this one.

You might realize the business you’ve been imagining is much more possible than you thought.

And if you’re ready to actually learn the service, I offer spray tan and teeth whitening training through Impressive Glow so you can learn the technical side of the service and start building it into a real business.
